Catch your train at the Airport
Of all European regional airports Pisa’s Galileo Galilei is the one that is closest to a railway terminal (less than 40 metres of covered walkway).
Direct railway lines connect the Airport to Florence.
The terminal is directly connected to Pisa Central Station by a direct train service. A lot of connections are thus available to all italian destinations. At the Airport, you can buy your railway ticket at the information office in the arrivals hall. The railway terminal is located just outside the departures hall.
Pisa Airport has direct train services to Florence
Pisa Airport and Firenze SMN railway station are connected by eight trains a day. The Pisa-Florence line also connects Pontedera and Empoli. The cost of a single ticket from Pisa Airport to Florence SMN is EUR 5.20* and from Pisa Airport to Pisa Central Station is EUR 1.10*. * Fares subject to change.
The taxi service is run by CO.TA.PI (Pisa taxi cooperative).
Fares
The average fare for a ride in the city of Pisa ranges from EUR 5.00 to EUR 7.00 (Plus €2,07 excess fare on Sundays and Bank Holidays)*.
Taxi drivers are obliged to switch the meter on before the start of each journey.

The Collective Taxi Service (by CO.TA.PI .)
From 7thJuly 2003 the new "Collective Taxi" service leaves, every 10 minutes, from Pisa International Airport to the Train Station and to the Leaning Tower (S. Chiara Hospital).
Flat fare per person: € 2.50 Pisa International Airport - Train Station; €4.00 Pisa International Airport - Leaning Tower - S.Chiara Hospital; Operating from 8.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m.; Maximum 8 passengers per car; Collective Taxi stand located on the right just out of the Arrival Exit doors.

The Compagnia Pisana Trasporti (CPT) connects the Airport to Pisa’s city centre every 10 minutes.
Going down the main streets, the Red LAM Line (Linea Alta Mobilita) crosses the Arno over the Ponte Solferino and arrives at the Field of Miracles (5 minutes from the “Ospedale S. Chiara” stop), with the world-famous Leaning Tower.
From the Airport, the main stops of the no. 1 bus are: Pisa Central Station, Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, Riversides (4 stops), Santa Chiara Hospital.
The bus fare
The EUR 0.85 ticket is valid for one hour on the entire city network.
You can buy tickets from the information office in the air terminal or the automatic ticket machine at the bus terminus.

PISA- LUCCA
From 30th March 2005, “VAI BUS” by Autolinee F.lli Lazzi will connect Pisa Airport to Lucca and Pietrasanta.

The bus stops
The bus terminus is located just outside the Airport Arrivals area.
There are three main parking areas: a short-term car park, a multilevel long-term car park, and a coach parking area covering the central section of the outside square.
Short-term car park
If you are going to stay at the Airport for a few hours, you should leave your car in the short-term car park just outside the departures hall, only a few steps from the check-in counters, the airline ticket office and from “La Corte” Shopping Area.
The car park is open from 8.00 am to midnight. Payment is made at the adjoining car park cash desk (telephone number 050 849512).

Multilevel long-term car park
If you are going to stay at the Airport for less than an hour to see a friend or relative off, to purchase an air ticket or to pop to the “La Corte” Shopping Area, the long-term car park is free up to 30 minutes.
If you need to leave your car longer or for a few days at the Airport, we suggest you use the multilevel long-term car park. It is open round the clock and is only a few steps from the departures hall.
The multilevel car park is located next to the railway terminal, on the departures side of the air terminal. Take a ticket upon entry and keep it until your return – you will need it to pay for the parking and leave the car park. Remember you need to pay before you collect your car.
Payments can be made from 7.30 a.m. to midnight at the car park cash desk outside the air terminal, on the departures side. Alternatively, you can use the two automatic ticket machines, which give change and are in operation 24 hours a day.
The car rental companies operating in the arrivals area of the air terminal offer a fleet of more than 400 vehicles including cars, vans, minibuses and campers. Even if you arrive on the last flight, you will always find at least one company expecting you and ready to meet your requirements. However, we recommend booking your car in advance.

Other services
The information office also provides tourist information. It also functions as left luggage office, issues flight insurance policies, and sells telephone cards, bus tickets and train tickets to all national destinations.
Tourist information desk
Just outside the arrivals hall, you will find the tourist information desk run by the Pisa Tourist Board (APT). The desk provides brochures about hotels, maps of Pisa and information on events taking place in Pisa province.
You can contact the information desk at 050 503700.
You are permitted access to the VIP Lounge if you are travelling business class, if you have a card of an airline company granting access to the Lounge, or if you are the holder of a Galilei Gold Card.
All the same, you also have the possibility to relax in the Vip Lounge by simply purchasing the ticket at the Airport Ticket Office (€ 9.50 per person).
Services at your disposal in the VIP Lounge include check-in if you are travelling with hand luggage only, and timely information about your flight. All of this in a pleasantly relaxing context where you can sip an aperitif or a coffee, or savour delicious Cantucci di Prato with Vin Santo. You can also navigate the Internet, watch TV or read your favourite newspaper.
The VIP Lounge is located on the first floor of the air terminal.
If you feel like a coffee or a snack, the bar in the Airport’s main hall is open every day from 6 am to 11 pm.
If it is lunchtime and you are in a hurry, next to the bar is the “Pizza Chef”, where – weather permitting – you can savour a pizza with a cool beer in the garden.
Restaurants
If you take the lift or climb the stairs from the main hall to the first floor, you will find the "Puccini" self-service restaurant, where you can enjoy meals in a relaxing and comfortable environment while watching the planes take off and land. For maximum comfort, you can go to the "Mascagni" Restaurant with table service (adjoining the self-service restaurant), where you can taste the best dishes Tuscany has to offer.
The Airport restaurants are open every day, holidays included, from 11.15 am to 3 pm and from 6 pm to 10 pm.

Thanks to Telelink Internet Kiosks very easy, nowadays passengers and staff can make use of 3 new Internet Points at both departure & arrival level located in useful positions. Besides Internet, enjoy a wide gamma of additional services that help you to solve last minute communication needs:
Web cam: take instant pictures, create video mails and make Video conferences; Customer Service Online: immediate assistance available 24 hours – 7 days; SAT Information points: find airport information by accessing Pisa Airport website; Chat; Black and White/Colour printing. Print information from the web, documents or even your favourite pictures; Lap Top, Pen Drive and Infra Red ports are also available at the Kiosks.
Payment can be made by coins, credit card and Pre-paid card on sale at vending machines close to Internet totem. The cards work also as an International Telephone card.
The airline ticket office is located in the departures hall in front of the check-in counters and is open every day from 5.30 am to 8 pm.
The ticket office can meet any booking requirement and issue tickets to any destination. It also provides a prepaid ticket service, changes ticket dates, reissues tickets, etc.
Railway tickets for the London Gatwick - Victoria Station line are also available.

Ryanair ticket office
Next to the airline ticket office you will find the Ryanair ticket office. Ryanair is the carrier that connects Pisa to the main european destinations at the lowest fares available.
If you want to visit the city and you are encumbered by your luggage, you can leave it at the Airport.
The left luggage service is provided by the information office.
You can leave your luggage at the office every day, including holidays, from 10 am to 6 pm and collect it from 8 am to 8 pm.
The daily charge for each piece of luggage is EUR 7.00.

The new security measures
As instructed by the competent authorities, the left luggage service is now subject to stringent security measures.
Consequently, before accepting your luggage for storage, you will be asked to subject each of your bags to an X-ray check, as happens with the luggage to be boarded.
The bank located in the air terminal, on the first floor, is run by the Cassa di Risparmio di Pisa.
The bank is open:
from Monday to Friday, from 8.20 am to 6.45 pm; on Saturday, from 8.20 am to 1.45 pm.
A cash dispenser and a currency exchange machine are also available at the arrival terminal, next to the Post Office.
A further cash dispenser is avaliable on the first floor of the terminal, next to the bank.

"Forexchange" exchange bureau
The branch Forexchange, in the "La Corte" Shopping Area, is open daily from 8.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m.
All transactions of every negotiable currency, Traveller's cheques, cash advance on main credit cards, cash point cards, money transfers, VAT refunds and sale of prepaid credit cards.
At the freight terminal, you will find DHL, the express courier which provides fast and guaranteed delivery of parcels worldwide.
You can send letters or goods weighing 5 grams and upwards from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.

FedEx
Federal Express has been operating at Pisa Airport since May 1999.
Following the procedures that are typical of couriers, shipments from all over Tuscany are collected and sorted through the World Service Centre, whose offices are located on the ground floor of the freight terminal.
Shipments from the World Service Centre are possible from Monday afternoon to Friday evening (8.30 am to 11.30 am and 2.30 pm to 7.30 pm).

Located on the first floor of the air terminal, the Air Health Office was opened in 1982 and is competent for all airports of Tuscany Region.
The office provides information about vaccinations, malaria prophylaxis and other health-related aspects of air travel.
The office carries out a number of activities concerning the passengers, means of transport and cargo that cross the Italian border with a view to:
Protecting public and individual health against exposure to biological, chemical or physical risk factors; Protecting public and individual health in connection with the problems resulting from migration flows; Fulfilling all sanitary obligations, including those resulting from international engagements.

The Surgery
The Air Health Office Surgery performs international vaccinations and issues the related certificates. It also offers accurate sanitary advice on the main risks of infections for travellers.
The surgery is open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 am till noon.
If you have not had time to fix you hair or if you want to look your best, the specialist hairdressers at Donky's Rock Hair will take care of you. The Beauty Centre is located on the first floor of the air terminal and is open from 8.30 am to 8.00 pm. Big names and Tuscan taste If you want to do some shopping before you leave or buy a present for the person you have come to meet, you can use the shops located in the main hall of the Airport. At the La Corte Shopping Centre you can buy all manner of items, from designer clothing to the delicacies of Tuscan cooking, from the gadgets of major football teams to fine silver and semi-precious stone handicraft. The shopping centre is open every day, holidays included, from 8.30 am. to 8.00 pm.
As from 1 July 1999, passengers travelling within the European Union are no longer allowed to buy duty-free.
In actual fact nothing has changed at Pisa Airport. All passengers can buy perfumes, luxury articles, foods, liquors and other items at duty-free prices from the Free Shop.
The Free Shop is located in the departures hall past the security check passages.

Galilei Airport is equipped with special facilities for the disabled: reserved parking spaces both in the short-term and in the multilevel car park, toilets with specially designed sanitary fittings, telephone for people with impaired hearing, ramps and lift providing access to the services located on the first floor of the air terminal.
Security check
Special passages allow wheelchair and pacemaker users to go through the security check.
These passages can be used by all passengers under particular conditions.
Boarding
Wheelchair users can be boarded by means of special ramp equipment - movable lounge - with an elevating platform.
In addition, any disabled person travelling alone will be assisted by our personnel from check-in to boarding.
The hotels located closest to the airport are the Jolly Hotel Cavalieri (tel: (0)50 43290) and Hotel D'Azeglio (tel: (0)50 500 310), they are both located in the centre of Pisa, aproximately 1.5km (1 mile) from the airport.
