Bank of New Zealand Currency Exchange
Bank of New Zealand Currency Exchange outlets are available every day of the year for all flight arrivals and departures.
For departing passengers:
Foreign cash is available in all major and a range of minor currencies, as are American Express Travellers Cheques in Australian Dollars, United States Dollars, Great British Pounds, Euro, Canadian Dollars and Japanese Yen.
EFTPOS and major credit cards are accepted for payment of departure fees and the purchase of foreign currency.
The Bank’s international terminal outlets are conveniently located at:
the ground floor check-in area the first floor departures area – prior to passport control the first floor airside area – after passport control
Currency can also be pre-ordered online or at any Bank of New Zealand branch, for collection at the first floor departures area (prior to passport control). To pre-order currency online, email travelfundsakl0124@ bnz.co.nz
International passenger departure fee:
An Airport Development Charge of NZ$25 is payable by every international passenger, except for children under 12 years of age, and transit passengers in Auckland for less than 24 hours.
The Airport Development Charge is payable at the Bank of New Zealand in the ground floor check-in area, or at the Bank of New Zealand in the first floor departure area.
You can also pay at one of the self-service ‘Departure Fee Express’ kiosks, using your Visa or MasterCard credit card or a New Zealand issued Eftpos card, providing you have a PIN number.
Exemption stickers are only available at the Bank of New Zealand.
For arriving passengers:

Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs)
Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs) are located throughout the international and domestic terminals. These ATMs accept VISA, MasterCard, Amex, Diners Club cards and all Plus cards.
Selected ATMs also dispense both Australian dollars and New Zealand dollars. The Australian Dollar option dispenses AU$50 notes and uses the current exchange rate at the time of the transaction.

Facilities for children
Adventure mini-golf
Treasure Island Adventure Golf has two full 18-hole mini golf courses, one of which is suitable for pushing strollers and wheelchairs. The pirate theme is part of the entertainment. Airspace entertainment centre
Fun for all age groups. Activities include Lego activity centre, Crayola colouring-in corner, Funstation, flight simulator, Sega Rally and other activities. Located on the first floor of the international terminal.
Baby facilities
Nursery rooms with cots and changing tables are available free of charge in the following locations:
near gate 8 (airside) between gate 1 and 3 (airside) behind Sbarro in the Jean Batten Food Court (landside)
There are also changing tables in the female toilets throughout the international and domestic terminals.
Butterfly Creek
Curly's outdoor playground, Red Admiral Express steam train, animal petting zoo, tropical butterfly house, Papillon bar and cafe, and room hire for functions. Area for children's parties. Located on Tom Pearce Drive. Phone +64 9 275 8880. Open 7.00 am to 6.00 pm seven days a week. Bar is open until 8.00 pm Saturday to Tuesday, and until 10.00 pm Wednesday to Friday.
Childcare centre
Airport Lollipops Educare provides qualified caregivers and a fully equipped centre. Bookings are essential. Located on Tom Pearce Drive. Phone +64 9 275 0888. Open 7.00 am to 6.00 pm Monday to Friday.
Children's playgrounds
Auckland International Airport provides a range of play areas for children. These include:
Lookout Lounge - free play equipment for young children. Located on the top floor of the international terminal. Airspace - entertainment centre for all age groups. Includes Lego activity centre, Crayola colouring-in corner, Funstation, flight simulator, Sega Rally and other activities. Located on the first floor of the international terminal, beside McDonald's restaurant.
Drinking fountains
Drinking fountains are located throughout the terminals.
Medical facilities
Medical services for passengers and visitors to the airport include:
For urgent medical attention or for a first aid room dial 98777 on any airport company telephone (not the telecom telephones) in the terminal. Full medical and healthcare services are available from The Doctors medical centre. Located in Ray Emery Drive, near the International Terminal. Phone +64 9 256-8444. Open 8.00 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Friday. The doctor is on site 1.30 pm to 4.00pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Time Out
A range of games and rides provide fun and entertainment. Located in the ground floor arrivals area of the international terminal. Open 24 hours, 7days.

Baggage trolleys: Free baggage trolleys are available throughout the terminal.

Baggage storage: Baggage storage is available at the Visitors Information Centre in the domestic transfer area, which is located on the ground floor. Charges are NZ$5 - NZ$10 for suitcases. For more information and charges on bulky items contact howard@ aucklandnz.com Open 7 days, from the first flight to the last flight of the day. The Baggage Services Shop on the ground floor, provides overnight storage facilities and can arrange door to door delivery of excess baggage. They also sell recyclable transparent polythene for sealing bags, boxes and packs. The shop also sells protective wrapping for fragile items and bicycles. Phone +64 9 256 8769.
